Welcome to Elaine's web site.  Elaine's love of animals, especially dogs, has lead her to a career as an obedience trainer, with dog owners attending from the north, northwest, western and southern suburbs of Chicago. Classes are taught in Itasca and Arlington Heights.  Elaine is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, The Golden Retriever Club of Illinois, The Golden Retriever Club of America and is a AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.  She has also given workshops on 'How To Get a Puppy' and 'Dog First Aid and Grooming' offered through park districts, libraries and the College of DuPage.

Elaine believes strongly in the positive re-enforcement approach to training and never uses force.  Elaine gives personal attention to each 'student'.  She teaches both puppies (as young as 3 months) and adult dogs.  Her classes are fun for both the dog and the owner and cover obedience exercises, socialization skills with other dogs and being prepared for emergencies.  When class is completed there is a graduation ceremony along with a certificate of successful completion plus a special treat for each dog.  Observers are always welcome at any class.

Elaine invites you and your dog or puppy to attend one of her classes.  For your convenience you can enroll online or if you wish contact Elaine by phone or e-mail.  Also, if you have a particular question concerning a behavioral problem your dog is having Elaine encourages you to submit your question by e-mail.  For more information about Elaine and her obedience training philosophy please go to More About Elaine page.
